My Hero Academia Finale Shows Off New Footage of Deku’s Pro Hero Suit

The anime series My Hero Academia will conclude with one last episode in May, and a new preview shows Deku’s hero suit as an adult. While the TV anime finished its eight-season run last fall, the story isn’t over yet! The series creator, Kohei Horikoshi, continued the narrative with an additional chapter in Shonen Jump, giving fans a glimpse into the lives of Deku and the other heroes as adults.

The anime My Hero Academia is concluding with one last TV episode, marking the end of Izuku Midoriya’s decade-long journey. I was so surprised by the ending of My Hero Academia! After the huge battle with All For One, Deku actually gave up One For All and became a teacher at U.A.! It’s been eight years since the war, and he seems really content, but honestly, it was bittersweet to see Bakugo and the rest of Class 1-A still longing for those hero days. They’ve been saving up, and Mei Hatsume came through with some incredible new tech – a brand new suit that could bring Deku back into the action! It’s a really exciting setup for what could come next.

Deku’s new hero suit showcases all the different powers he’s developed with One For All. The final scene shows him using jet boots for gliding, similar to before, and we see a return of Blackwhip. It’s clear a lot of thought went into designing the suit, reflecting the support and desire of his friends to fight alongside him again.

When Does My Hero Academia’s Real Finale Come Out?

Episode 170+1 of My Hero Academia will premiere in Japan on May 2nd, and will be available to stream on Crunchyroll immediately after. This special episode, titled “More,” adapts a chapter from the original manga (chapter 431) that wasn’t published in Weekly Shonen Jump. Instead, it was included as a bonus epilogue with the final volume of the manga. This episode is considered the true final installment of the story.

This chapter jumps forward eight years after the war to show what Deku and his friends are up to. It wraps up some loose ends from the original story and offers a heartfelt, introspective look at Deku’s life, and we’ll see how the anime adapts this reflective journey.
