CBS has confirmed the future of the NCIS franchise, renewing three shows for the 2026-2027 television season. The original NCIS will return for its 24th season, alongside the third season of NCIS: Origins and the fourth season of NCIS: Sydney.
This announcement follows a series of renewal decisions by CBS. The network has also greenlit a new series, a spin-off of The Big Bang Theory called George & Mandy’s First Marriage.
NCIS, created by Donald P. Bellisario, is a popular and long-running crime drama that follows a team of special agents investigating crimes for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. The show features Sean Murray, Wilmer Valderrama, Katrina Law, Brian Dietzen, Diona Reasonover, Rocky Carroll, and Gary Cole.
NCIS: Origins is a new series that goes back in time to the 1990s, showing the early days of Leroy Jethro Gibbs – the character fans know from NCIS. Austin Stowell plays the young Gibbs, and Mark Harmon provides narration.
NCIS: Sydney first premiered on Paramount+ in Australia. The series centers around a team made up of American NCIS agents and Australian Federal Police officers who work together to investigate international crimes in a busy and often disputed area of the ocean.
