Xbox and Double Fine have announced the studio’s next game — an online party brawler named Kiln.
This multiplayer game lets you create a unique ceramic character and then battle with it online as part of a team.
The trailer is probably the best way to explain it:
Kiln is a game with two main parts. First, you design your own ceramic pot using a virtual pottery wheel, shaping it and adding your own unique decorations.
Then, you give the pot a personality, which determines what kind of container it is. Different container types move and attack in unique ways.
So, there’s this awesome competitive mode in the game called Quench. Basically, it’s a team battle where we try to put out the other team’s kiln – like, completely douse their flames! It’s a really fun, head-to-head thing.
The goal is to collect water within your character and deliver it to the kiln on the map. However, it’s not easy – other players will try to stop you along the way.
As you play, you’ll unlock more ways to create and customise your pots.
The game is confirmed for release on PS5, and it’s set for release in Spring 2026.
You can find more details on the PlayStation Blog. We’d love to hear your thoughts on Kiln – share them in the comments below!
