Netflix constantly updates its library with new movies and TV shows. Usually, we know when to expect new releases, but sometimes Netflix surprises us with unexpected premieres. That happened this week with the debut of a new *Karate Kid* movie, which arrived on the service just four months after its theatrical release.
The newest film in the *Karate Kid Legends* series quietly launched on Netflix this morning at 3:00 AM (according to TV Line). What’s interesting is that this film connects the original *Karate Kid* movies with the recent reboot, creating a single, unified timeline for the entire franchise. Essentially, all *Karate Kid* stories now exist in one universe, and fans can now stream the latest installment whenever they want.
A Karate Kid Universe on Netflix

Karate Kid: Legends combines all the stories from the Karate Kid universe – including the original movies, The Next Karate Kid, the 2010 remake, and the popular Netflix series Cobra Kai – into one continuous timeline. The game picks up after the final season of Cobra Kai, and now all of these films and shows are available together in a single place.
For a while, only the original *Karate Kid* movie, *Cobra Kai*, was streaming on Netflix after the sequels were removed. However, the other films unexpectedly reappeared earlier this year, leaving just the newest installment missing from the complete series.
If you haven’t seen *Karate Kid: Legends*, the movie brings back Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) from the previous film. He asks Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) for help, and together they train Li Fong (Ben Wang) for a major martial arts tournament in New York City. Winning the tournament is crucial because it would save the pizza shop owned by Victor Lipani (Joshua Jackson) and his daughter, Mia (Sadie Stanley).
The series delves into Mr. Han’s past, revealing he was a friend of the late Mr. Miyagi – the famous teacher of Daniel LaRusso. Mr. Miyagi remains a key figure throughout the *Karate Kid* universe, and that connection is present in *Karate Kid: Legends* as well.
