I’m completely blown away by this new Korean crime thriller on Netflix – it has a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes! It really deserves it, too; the story is gripping, and the acting is fantastic. It’s so exciting to see how South Korean shows are becoming huge hits for Netflix. Before this, Money Heist was their first big international success, but now South Korea is consistently delivering incredible series. From the intense All of Us Are Dead to the phenomenon that is Squid Game, these shows are some of Netflix’s absolute best – and most popular – titles. I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!

As a huge fan of K-dramas, I have to say that Sweet Home is still one of the best horror shows Netflix has ever put out. And The Glory? Seriously intense – it’s one of the darkest, most gripping psychological thrillers I’ve seen on the platform. But recently, I discovered another Korean show that blew me away – it actually got a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes! It’s a really cool mix of a classic noir mystery and a dark, psychological thriller, and if you’re into those kinds of shows, you absolutely need to check it out.

In the 2021 series My Name, Han So-hee plays Yoon Ji-woo, a woman who goes undercover as a police officer to get revenge for her father’s death. Ji-woo is part of a powerful drug cartel, and her boss, Choi Mu-jin – who also employed her father – arranges for her to join the police force as a way to gather information for the gang.

Just when people might realize this story shares similarities with films like The Departed, Yoon Ji-woo finds herself working undercover within the police, infiltrating the gang she grew up with. Although the basic idea behind My Name isn’t entirely original, borrowing elements from other crime thrillers, the show is remarkably well-made and stands out. The acting is consistently excellent, and the plot moves quickly with plenty of surprises, but it never loses sight of the underlying emotional story. Even considering the show’s strong storytelling and the fact that it only has a few reviews, a perfect 100% critic score is still a significant accomplishment.

My Name Is One Of Netflix’s Most Overlooked Korean Shows

It’s rare for a TV show to get a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes for every season, though some seasons do achieve that. However, Netflix’s thriller The Chestnut Man – and its second season, Hide and Seek – managed this, as did the comedy series The Chair Company. Both shows earned a 100% rating across all their seasons.

Despite receiving strong reviews, My Name remains surprisingly overlooked on Netflix. This fast-paced crime thriller is packed with unexpected twists and has a compelling premise – the kind that usually makes foreign-language shows popular on the streaming service. However, for some reason, it hasn’t gotten the international recognition it deserves.
