Netflix fires another shot at global success.
Wow, Netflix has been on a roll in 2026! I’ve been loving all the new Originals, especially His & Hers – it’s already become one of the most popular shows ever on the platform! And now, another series, a really gripping crime thriller, is blowing up all over the world. I can’t wait to check it out!
As of today, Bandi is the second most popular TV show on Netflix globally. The crime thriller quickly gained traction after its debut on April 9th, surpassing other popular thrillers like Detective Hole, Bloodhounds, and The Cleaning Lady in the global rankings. Currently, only Trust Me: The False Prophet has more viewers.
The new Netflix crime thriller, Bandi, is a huge hit, currently trending in 57 countries! It’s the most-watched show on Netflix in 27 of those countries, including popular markets like Brazil, France, and Mexico. Even where it isn’t number one, Bandi is proving to be very popular with viewers across the country.
The new 8-part crime thriller on Netflix is currently the 8th most popular show in the US. It’s performing better than Love on the Spectrum and Sitting Bull in the American rankings. However, it’s behind other shows like WWE’s Raw, American Godfathers: The Five Families, Big Mistakes, and Temptation Island.
Currently, Trust Me: The False Prophet is Netflix’s most popular TV show both worldwide and in the United States. As of today, Bandi has only received one review on Rotten Tomatoes – a positive one from Joel Keller of Decider, who described the character Kylan as a surprisingly subtle crime boss.
Currently, the IMDB rating for Bandi is only 5.9, based on 199 reviews. This seems surprisingly low considering the show has become a huge streaming hit worldwide. Interestingly, the first episode, which received the lowest rating, still scored a respectable 7.3. All other episodes of the series have ratings between 8.7 and 8.9, suggesting that Bandi‘s overall score is likely to improve soon.
I recently watched Bandi, and it’s a really powerful story. It centers around eleven siblings who are left orphaned and have to figure out how to survive while sticking together as a family. It’s heartbreaking to watch them, and some end up getting involved in dangerous things like drug trafficking, which creates a lot of tension. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Bandi stays near the top of Netflix’s most-watched list for quite a while – it’s that compelling.
