Sci-fi fans love seeing different universes combine, and that’s exactly what’s happening again! When popular franchises team up, it creates fresh stories, builds on existing mythology, and offers surprising adventures. We’ve seen successful crossovers before, like the Alien and Predator movies, and now the Predator franchise is joining forces with Marvel Comics, bringing almost a century of combined history to the page.
This July, Marvel Comics will release the first issue of a five-part series, Predator vs. Planet of the Apes. Written by Greg Pak, who previously worked on Planet Hulk, and illustrated by Alan Robinson (known for X-Men Infinity Comic), this unexpected crossover brings together two iconic science fiction franchises in a story fans are already excited about.
Predator vs The Planet of the Apes is a First-Ever Crossover For the Two Sci-Fi Icons

On July 29th, the first-ever crossover between the Predator and Planet of the Apes franchises arrives in comic shops with Predator vs. The Planet of the Apes #1. The story itself is thrilling, and the comic will also feature stunning variant covers. The main cover is by Stonehouse, with additional options including foil variants by Ben Oliver, designs by Skottie Young and Chris Campana (who’s doing a movie poster homage), plus further variants from Carlos Mango and Tim Seeley, alongside another cover by Stonehouse.
Pak recalls being deeply impressed after seeing the original Planet of the Apes film on a small black and white TV in the early 1980s. He was therefore very excited when Marvel asked him to write Planet of the Apes comics, and even more thrilled when they added Predator to the mix. He considers both franchises to be legendary in science fiction, and working on either would have been a dream come true. Combining them, however, is something truly special. Both series are known for their imaginative world-building, thought-provoking science fiction concepts, and exploration of important themes like violence and war. They aren’t afraid to take risks and push boundaries, and Pak is eager to share what he and the creative team, including Alan Robinson, have been developing.
Get ready for an epic clash in Predator vs. The Planet of the Apes! When a Predator ship crashes on the Planet of the Apes, astronaut Arch finds herself trapped in a world where apes rule and humans are their servants. But a new threat emerges as the apes become the targets of the deadly Predators, sparking a three-way battle for survival between humans, apes, and the Yautja. Who will be left standing?
You Won’t Have to Wait Until July to Get a Glimpse of The Ultimate Sci-Fi Crossover

Although the first issue of the new series isn’t available until July, fans can get a sneak peek of this exciting sci-fi crossover much sooner. A special preview story will be included in Alien, Predator & Planet of the Apes CGD 2026 #1, which will be given away at participating comic shops on May 2nd.
