Dutton Ranch Sets Record For An Original Series Debut on Paramount+

The new series Dutton Ranch launched on Paramount+ on May 15th and had a very strong start, becoming the platform’s most-watched original series debut ever. It attracted 12.9 million viewers worldwide in its first week and was the top streaming show, according to early Nielsen data. This success is particularly important for Paramount+, which has been trying to compete with leading streaming services like Netflix and Disney+ in a crowded market. Taylor Sheridan, the creator behind the show, has been a major asset for Paramount, and he’s expected to remain so until his contract ends in 2028, when he’ll move to NBCUniversal.

Similar to Yellowstone, Dutton Ranch aired on the Paramount Network and also proved to be a success. The network announced that the show attracted 2.9 million viewers on its premiere night, with the first episode drawing 1.9 million. This was the biggest debut for a new cable series since 2023 and the most-watched cable entertainment program on its premiere day for adults aged 18-49 and all viewers.
