Okay, awesome news for all us Batman and LEGO fans! TT Games just announced that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has gone gold. That means the game is finished being made and is ready to ship, so we’re getting closer and closer to playing it! I’m super hyped!
The team made the announcement via its socials today, 30th April 2026:
According to TT Games, when a game “goes gold,” it simply means development on the main game is complete. This term comes from the old practice of creating a final “gold master” disc used to make copies of the game for release.
Today, it doesn’t carry quite the same meaning, but it’s still a big achievement.
Over the next little while, we’ll be focusing on fixing a few remaining bugs and improving the game’s performance. These improvements will be included in a launch-day update – which is pretty standard for most games these days.
Every time we revisit The Dark Knight Returns, we’re left feeling hopeful. It’s a fantastic tribute to Batman, drawing inspiration from all corners of his history – including the films, comics, and more.
The game’s style is reminiscent of the Arkham series, with a colorful, almost toy-like appearance. Players can explore a detailed Gotham City, utilize a variety of gadgets, and enjoy fast-paced fighting.
We’re really looking forward to this, and we want to know – are you ready for our launch on May 22, 2026? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
