Everyone considers Mega Man 2 a classic NES game. But what if you could play it whenever and wherever you want?
As a huge Mega Man fan, I’m so excited about the new My Play Watch! It’s basically the original 8-bit Mega Man, but totally revamped to work perfectly on the touchscreen of your watch. It’s awesome to be able to play this classic right on my wrist!
Here’s what the blurb says:
In Mega Man, the character runs through each level automatically, and players use simple taps on the screen to jump, avoid obstacles, and fire their weapon. Tapping quickly fires the weapon, while holding your finger on the screen controls how high the character jumps. This makes for a fast-paced and easy-to-play experience that still feels like the classic Mega Man games, perfect for short bursts of gameplay.
As a digital watch, it has all the health tracking features you’d expect, like a step counter and calorie tracker, but with a fun Mega Man design.
Surprisingly, the creator highlights the lack of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as a good thing. They point out there are no notifications or apps, and explain that it’s intentionally designed to be simple and let you focus on playing without distractions.
You can customize the main clock face with different artwork, and even use backgrounds based on the classic US game box art. Plus, you can swap out the straps to create a unique look.
At eighty dollars, this isn’t an impulse buy, but it’s definitely eye-catching. You can pre-order it now from GameStop, though it’s not yet available for pre-order in Europe.
