Honestly, 2025 was a great year for gaming. We saw some huge mobile hits like Umamusume: Pretty Derby, and finally got our hands on games we’d been waiting for, like Hollow Knight: Silksong. It was awesome to see so many standout titles coming from indie developers too – Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 even won Game of the Year! Now, one of my favorite indie games from last year, Tiny Bookshop, is getting even better with a new DLC. It originally launched on PC and Switch, but it’s found a whole new audience since hitting Xbox Game Pass – seriously, if you haven’t checked it out, you should!
Tiny Bookshop, a popular bookshop management simulation game developed by Neoludic Games and Skystone Games, has been a hit with players since its release on Steam in August 2025. It quickly earned an ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ rating and a Metacritic score of 81, making it one of the best indie games of the year. The game recently expanded to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and was available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. Now, players can look forward to even more content, as Neoludic has announced a new story-based downloadable content (DLC) pack.
Tiny Bookshop Fans Rejoice As First Story DLC Is Confirmed

Similar to other business management games, Tiny Bookshop includes a heartwarming story. While players manage and personalize their bookstore on wheels, they also get to know and assist the residents of Bookstonbury. This charming narrative is a big reason why the game has become so popular with both bookworms and fans of cozy games. Beyond the fun of running a bookstore and recommending books, Tiny Bookshop features memorable characters and their unique stories.
Like all good stories, the main narrative in the game has reached its conclusion. This has left many players wanting more to do in the charming town of Bookstonbury. Since its release, gamers have been hoping for a full expansion to Tiny Bookshop, and today, Neoludic has confirmed that one is on the way.
Neoludic announced on May 6th that they’re working on more content for Tiny Bookshop via X (formerly Twitter). While details are scarce, they hinted at something exciting on the way! The announcement included a picture of a newspaper from the game’s world, Bookstonbury, teasing the “next adventure in Bookstonbury-by-the-sea!” The image also features Harper, a key character, suggesting the new content might expand on her storyline.
Big news! We’re working on some exciting downloadable content, and we can’t wait to share more details with you soon!

The new downloadable content (DLC) was just announced, so details about its size and release date are still unknown. Currently, there isn’t even a page for the Tiny Bookshop DLC on Steam, although you can purchase a Supporter Pack that includes a digital art book and soundtrack. Since the game launched on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in April 2026, it’s now available on all major platforms. We hope this means the upcoming expansion will also be released on all platforms at the same time.
If you haven’t played the charming game Tiny Bookshop yet, you can find it on PC through Steam, as well as on Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It’s also included with Xbox Game Pass Premium and Ultimate subscriptions.
Have you tried the game Tiny Bookshop? A new expansion is coming soon, and we’d love to hear what you think! Share your thoughts and join the discussion in the ComicBook Forum!
