Disney+ Hailed the ‘Centerpiece’ of Digital Future by New Disney CEO

Following recent changes in leadership – including the departures of and – new CEO Josh D’Amaro has described Disney’s streaming service as the most important part of the company’s digital plans.

The House of Mouse Will Combine the Digital and Physical Worlds on Disney+

In his first earnings call, Disney’s D’Amaro announced a major focus: making their streaming service the central hub for all Disney fans and customers.

Disney is focusing on Disney+ as the central way to connect with its audience – a hub for all things Disney. During their May 6th earnings call, company leaders emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between Disney’s theme parks, movies, and digital content.

D’Amaro described Disney’s theme parks as the core of the company’s in-person experiences, and Disney+ as the central hub for digital and interactive content. He stated that these two parts of Disney will increasingly work together and be more connected.

According to a recent Bloomberg report, Disney’s new CEO wants to transform Disney+ into a comprehensive “super app.” This app would go beyond streaming movies and shows by also including features like theme park ticket purchases and cruise bookings.
