I have to admit, I totally missed Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken when it came out last summer. It’s about this really relatable, awkward teen who finds out she’s descended from a whole line of powerful kraken warriors – basically, she’s meant to protect the oceans! Sadly, it didn’t do so well in theaters, only making around $46 million worldwide on a $70 million budget. It ended up being a pretty big loss for DreamWorks Animation, actually their second lowest-grossing film ever. But honestly, it’s a really good animated movie, and I’m glad it’s finally available on Peacock as of April 20th so more people can check it out!
