New Nintendo Switch Game Gets Canceled Before Release

This week, Amazon announced it’s shutting down the game King of Meat. Launched less than six months ago by Glowmade, King of Meat was a cooperative platformer focused on user-created content. 4-Year-Old Survival Game Sees Massive Surge in Players Following Major Update

Core Keeper, a surprisingly excellent survival game, first launched in Early Access in 2022 and officially released in 2024. While it’s been consistently popular, especially after coming to consoles, it hasn’t gotten quite the attention it deserves for a well-made, open-world survival game that lets up to eight players team up. Recently, the game is gaining popularity again thanks to the new Void & Voltage update – and it’s a welcome boost for a truly great title.

Sadly, disagreements about the game’s direction – the classic issue of ‘creative differences’ – ultimately stopped the project. While fans were disappointed, a similar game called Bodycount came out in 2011, but it wasn’t a true continuation of the Black story.

This shift has not only made games look more similar to each other, but it’s also made it harder for video games to develop their own recognizable artistic style.
