Phil Collins can feel it coming in the air tonight.
Genesis musician and recent health-challenge survivor, Tony Banks, attended the King’s Trust 50th Anniversary Party at Buckingham Palace on May 14th with his ex-wife, Jill Collins. They were among the guests alongside King Charles and Queen Camilla.
Jill shared on Instagram on May 15th about a wonderful afternoon celebrating the 50th anniversary of The King’s Trust at Buckingham Palace. Even though it rained heavily, the event was full of cheer. Jill and Phil Collins were honored to attend and had a chance to speak with King Charles. Phil Collins, who was the very first ambassador for the Trust 40 years ago and a trustee before that, seemed to especially please the King.
Jill, who shares 37-year-old daughter Lily Collins with Phil, also shared a photo of them with Rod Stewart and his wife, Penny Lancaster.
It’s not unusual to see Phil using crutches at events. The Grammy-winning musician, who stopped making music in 2022, has mentioned before that he frequently uses them due to past knee surgeries.
In a January interview on the BBC’s Eras podcast, Phil revealed he’s had five surgeries on his knee. While he now has a functioning knee and can walk, he still needs crutches for support.
In addition to his knee problems, he also mentioned that his past struggles with alcohol had caused kidney damage.
He admitted he’d likely been drinking too much, which probably affected his kidneys. He wasn’t a late-night drinker, but he’d drink throughout the day and thinks he simply overdid it.
Let me tell you, Phil was adamant he wasn’t drunk, even though he did stumble a couple of times. He always said it was just one of those unfortunate things, a combination of everything finally getting to him. It was serious, though – he ended up needing months of hospital care to recover.

Phil Collins is a father to five children: Joely and Simon Collins (with ex-wife Andrea Bertorelli), and Nic and Matthew Collins (with ex Orianne Cevey). He’s also been dealing with nerve damage in his hands, which started after a spinal injury he sustained during Genesis’s final tour in 2007.
After receiving the upsetting diagnosis, the singer of “You’ll Be in My Heart” decided to stop drumming.
In his 2024 documentary, Phil Collins: Drummer First, Collins explained that he’d prefer to retire than perform if he couldn’t maintain his previous level of skill. He said he’ll consider playing again “if I wake up one day and I can hold a pair of drumsticks,” but feels he’s already done all he can in his career.

I was so worried when I heard that my favorite podcast host, from BFFs, had to have emergency surgery back in May 2026! Apparently, doctors found a really big cyst on her ovary that had twisted things around inside and caused some dangerous internal bleeding. It was a scary time, but thankfully she’s recovering!
After her surgery, Brianna explained in a TikTok video that doctors discovered half a liter of blood in her pelvic area. She said she has five cuts on her stomach, and the surgeons used a camera inserted through her belly button to locate the source of the bleeding.

Former Total Bellas star revealed that one of her breast implants moved after being hit in the chest by fellow WWE wrestler Piper Niven during a match in July 2025.
She reassured her sister, Bella Garcia, that they would get the issue resolved eventually. She explained to the doctor that as soon as she finished her current commitments – implying after her divorce was finalized – she would return to address the problem and ensure everything looked its best, because she planned to use them again and they needed to be presentable.

Lupita Nyong’o received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids—non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus—in 2014, the year she won an Academy Award for her acting role in 12 Years a Slave.
She didn’t share her diagnosis until 2025, when she revealed on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with it for over ten years.
She explained that growing up, many of us are taught to accept period pain as a normal part of being a woman. This often leaves us dealing with a common issue in silence and feeling isolated.

In July 2025, the actress from Daisy Jones & The Six revealed she was hospitalized for a hernia. This happened because she had been wearing pants that were too tight, which caused a gap in her abdominal muscles.
Someone messaged Suki on X (formerly Twitter) asking why she hadn’t tweeted in a while. Suki replied, jokingly suggesting she’d been hiding a serious injury – a hernia caused by wearing overly tight pants six months ago – and was afraid to mention it.

The former star of Beverly Hills, 90210 shared in April 2025 that he was recovering from surgery to repair a nearly ruptured appendix.
Brian shared in an Instagram video that he recently experienced stomach pain which led him to the emergency room. He explained he had a perforated appendix – it hadn’t fully burst, but was very close to doing so.
He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

During a soccer game against the Seattle Reign on September 14th at Lumen Field in Seattle, a midfielder for Racing Louisville collapsed after only a few minutes of play.
As a huge USWNT fan, it was really scary to watch. I saw one of the players slowly sit down on the field, with a teammate right there supporting her, and then, just moments later, she collapsed. The referee immediately called for medical staff to come check her out, and honestly, it was a really worrying sight.
After receiving initial medical attention on the field, Savannah was taken to a nearby hospital for more tests, according to a statement from the National Women’s Soccer League. They reported that she is currently in stable condition and fully conscious.

Adam Devine revealed that injuries from being hit by a cement truck at age 11 continue to cause him problems even now.
“It’s been incredibly difficult,” Devine shared on the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast in 2025. “I experience spasms throughout my body, and doctors recently told me I was facing a life-threatening situation—I was told I might not have much time left.”
He explained that his pain is intermittent, saying, “My body has a few quirks and isn’t quite working as it should.”

A former contestant on The Bachelor went to the hospital in extreme back pain, reportedly crawling because it was so bad. The pain flared up during a road trip with a friend while they were traveling in an RV.
He described a lingering tingling sensation in his knees and toes during a March 2025 episode of his podcast, Trading Secrets. He explained that just a few weeks or a month prior, he was able to squat 295 pounds, but now he can’t even do a squat or stand on one foot without falling. He compared the feeling to having had a stroke.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

Gina Kirschenheiter from The Real Housewives of Orange County revealed that her ex-husband, Matt Kirschenheiter, had a heart attack in March 2025, but he is recovering well.

In March 2025, the actor from 30 Rock experienced a medical issue at a New York Knicks game and had to be taken out of Madison Square Garden in a wheelchair.
The comedian later posted an update online, explaining he had food poisoning but was starting to feel better.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I was so shocked to hear about what happened to Christina Applegate. She shared that while celebrating her husband Brendan Rooney’s birthday with a clay pigeon shooting outing, she was unfortunately shot in the face. It’s a truly frightening incident, and I’m sending her all my best wishes for a full recovery.
According to her Instagram post, she was accidentally shot in the face by someone at a party who fired a weapon unsafely. She said @thebrendanrooney quickly helped her and took her to the hospital. She was hit five times, and one bullet came dangerously close to her right eye – less than an inch away.
According to the former Kim Possible star, a small piece of something got stuck behind her eye. Doctors have advised against removing it with surgery right now, and they’ll continue to check on her vision, which is currently normal.
The actress expressed immense gratitude for being alive. She shared how much she loves her daughters, husband, family, and friends, explaining that experiencing a near-death moment made her realize how quickly life can change. She urged everyone to cherish their loved ones and hug them whenever possible.

While the internet isn’t always a kind place, Amy Schumer is happy that, in this case, it helped her get answers.
“The internet really came for me after doing a bunch of press, and I was like, ‘OK everybody, relax,'” Amy recalled of her “puffier” face on a January 2025 episode of Call Her Daddy. “But then doctors were chiming in in the comments and they were like, ‘No no, we think something’s really up. Your face looks so crazy that we think something’s up. And I’m like, ‘Wait, I’m getting trolled by doctors?’”
After these doctors said they thought she had Cushing syndrome and that it may be caused by spiking coritsol levels or steroid injections, the Life & Beth creator thought, “Wait, I have been getting steroid injections in my scars.”
“I had a breast reduction, a C-section, whatever, and so I was getting these steroid injections,” Amy said. “So it gave me this thing called Cushing syndrome, which I wouldn’t have known if the internet hadn’t come for me so hard.”
Toda, Amy is just relieved she’s OK. As she shared in a February 2024 News Not Noise newsletter, “Finding out I have the kind of Cushing that will just work itself out and I’m healthy was the greatest news imaginable.”

During a game in December 2024, an AHL player suffered a skate cut that required 25 stitches. His father, New Jersey Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald, shared with ESPN after his son’s recovery, “We feel very fortunate. No parent should have to go through that.”

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin. She suddenly started having stroke-like symptoms, leaving her unable to speak and causing the right side of her face to droop. Although her symptoms briefly subsided, she went to the hospital for testing. Doctors discovered she’d had a small blood clot travel to her brain, which they identified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). Further investigation at UCLA revealed Hailey had a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). This hole allowed the blood clot to reach her brain, causing the TIA. Hailey has since undergone a successful procedure to close the hole in her heart and is now doing well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.
In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained the virus affected the nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on one side. He also shared that it had become increasingly difficult to eat. Thankfully, the paralysis eventually went away.
Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well and feeling much better. She described the situation as scary and unexpected, but reassured everyone that he would be completely fine and she was grateful he was on the mend.

Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the serious health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had initially kept private. In his 2024 Netflix special, What Had Happened Was…, Foxx explained that he suffered a severe headache one day while in Atlanta. Before he could take an aspirin, he lost consciousness and doesn’t remember the next 20 days.
He initially saw a doctor who gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, was worried and took him to the hospital. Doctors discovered he had a brain bleed that resulted in a stroke.
After surgery, twenty days later, on May 4th, Foxx woke up in a wheelchair unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for extensive rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed his gratitude for all the prayers he received, saying he needed every single one.

The reality TV star shared that she briefly stopped breathing while running a mile during the first challenge on the NBC show.
She shared on the show Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather. After that, she remembers only darkness, followed by light, leading her to realize she had died that day.
She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where your body essentially starts to shut down.

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, bravely battled serious health issues. In 2019, she revealed in an essay for The New Yorker that she suffered a life-threatening brain hemorrhage while at the gym in 2019. She described experiencing a sudden, severe headache and then collapsing and being violently ill, realizing something was seriously wrong.
A scan revealed she had a ruptured aneurysm, a type of stroke caused by bleeding around the brain. She immediately underwent surgery to repair it, but the pain was excruciating. During her recovery, she temporarily lost her ability to speak, often muttering incoherently.
Though she was discharged after a month, a follow-up scan in 2013 revealed the aneurysm had grown and required a second surgery. This surgery was initially unsuccessful, causing a major bleed and putting her life at risk. Doctors had to perform a more invasive procedure, accessing her brain directly through her skull.
Fortunately, Emilia has made a full recovery and is now at 100%.

Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, recently shared how much she appreciates her family’s support. In January 2024, she suffered a stroke and immediately reached out to her loved ones, sending them a text and a picture. She told TopMob News that everyone quickly came to her aid.
Cori ended up staying in the hospital longer than expected due to other health issues. While she could have gone home after the stroke, she was also dealing with complications from lupus and kidney problems.
Fortunately, Cori is now recovering well. She says she’s feeling great and has been working to regain some motor skills, but is otherwise doing fine.

Shailene Woodley struggled with significant health issues throughout her early twenties. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she described a time when she was losing her hearing, unable to walk for more than a few minutes without needing to rest for hours, and experiencing constant stomach pain. She faced confusion as different doctors offered varying diagnoses.
Determined to find answers, Woodley, who has a background in herbalism, combined traditional medical care with alternative healing methods. This search for well-being spanned a decade.
The physical discomfort led to deeper issues, including fear of food and struggles with body image, identity, and feeling comfortable in her own body.
Ultimately, Woodley’s health improved, and she is now very healthy. She shared that the issues resolved themselves, and she’s grateful to be feeling well again.
