Hideo Kojima’s studio, Kojima Productions, is making a game called OD that will only be available on Xbox. However, many people are more excited about Physint, a game coming exclusively to PlayStation. Physint is Kojima’s first stealth action game since the Metal Gear Solid series. Although we don’t know much about how the game will play, some new information about the story and actors involved might have been revealed.
MP1st has discovered potential casting calls, listed under the code name “Shimmer,” suggesting work on a new game. Mari Ueda, a casting director from Pivot Motion (known for their work on Death Stranding 2: On the Beach), is handling the casting. Details indicate a scene involving a hijacked bus filled with passengers, including a mother with a baby and several teenagers.
The most recent detail that’s come out is really intriguing: they’re looking for a villain with a German accent. Described as similar to Mads Mikkelsen’s character in Hannibal, but with more style, this character is said to be thin, reserved, intensely focused, and disturbingly self-assured. Filming is expected to begin in June, although the timing alongside several other events is probably just a coincidence.
It’s doubtful this character will be a central villain like Higgs from Death Stranding. Details like this usually come directly from Hideo Kojima, not casting calls. Even if this scene is actually for the game, it does suggest that work on the project is moving forward.
Last year, Hideo Kojima announced that this project, along with OD, would be a key priority for the company in 2026. So far, Charlee Fraser, Ma Dong-Seok, and Minami Hamabe have been cast. We can expect more announcements throughout the year, so keep an eye out for updates.
