So, I saw that PlayStation (that’s Sony Interactive Entertainment, but let’s be real, we all call it PlayStation) recently went to visit Hideo Kojima’s studio in Tokyo. It’s got me wondering exactly what they talked about, you know? It feels like something big is brewing!
On February 24th, 2026, Hideo Kojima announced that representatives from a major gaming platform visited his studio. They presented the team with a special plaque celebrating Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.
While that’s likely not the only reason so many Sony Interactive Entertainment employees are going to Japan, we suspect Hideo Kojima’s recent work on trailers might be connected to these meetings.
Just before the latest State of Play event, Hideo Kojima mentioned he was working on a new trailer. Many people thought this trailer would be shown during Sony’s presentation.
A trailer for the PC version of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach was shown during the State of Play, leading many to believe the port was already confirmed.
After the State of Play event, Kojima kept mentioning his editing work, suggesting he was either working on a trailer that wasn’t shown, or he immediately started a new project.
Interestingly, the trailer – finished on February 19th – was shown at a special screening that coincided with a visit from Sony Interactive Entertainment to the studio.
It seems Kojima created this intriguing trailer specifically to present it to PlayStation. It’s probably not the trailer for Death Stranding 2 on PC, as that one has already been released.
So, what is it?
People have different ideas about what this could be. Some believe it’s a trailer for the horror game OD, suggesting it might finally be released on PS5. Others think it has to do with Physint, the exciting stealth action game Kojima Productions is developing with Sony.
It definitely looks like something exciting happened when PlayStation visited Kojima Productions‘ studio. We don’t know exactly when we’ll find out what they discussed, but it’s likely their partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment is secure.
