Pokemon Go Unveils New Forever Forward Season Details, With Pokemon Debuts, Showcase Changes & More

The current season, Memories in Motion, in Pokemon Go is coming to an end. That means Niantic has revealed details about the next season, which will be called “Forever Forward.” This new season starts on June 2nd and lasts until September 8th, and Niantic has shared some initial information about what players can expect.

Go Fest is definitely a major event in the upcoming season of Pokemon Go, but there’s plenty more to be excited about! As always, Niantic has a few surprises planned. They’ve recently shared some early details about the new season, called Forever Forward, including new Mega Evolutions, the introduction of Dynamax Pokemon, and updates to the Daily Discovery feature. Here’s a rundown of everything we know about the Forever Forward season in Pokemon Go so far.

Forever Forward Mega Evolution & Dynamax Debuts

Get ready for Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y to appear in Pokémon Go for the first time ever during Pokémon Go Fest 2026: Global! But that’s not all – several other Pokémon will be available in Mega Raids this season, including:

  • Mega Raichu X
  • Mega Raichu Y
  • Mega Skarmory

These Mega Evolutions are brand new additions to Pokemon Legends: Z-A, and there could be even more revealed in the future.

Along with the return of Mega Evolution, some Pokémon will also be able to Dynamax during the Forever Forward season. Here’s a look at the new Max Raid Battles coming up:

  • Dynamax Electabuzz
  • Dynamax Magikarp
  • Dynmax Feebas

Daily Discovery Experience Changes for Forever Forward

Pokemon Go is improving its Daily Discoveries feature to add more variety to the game, even when there aren’t special events happening. Some of these daily activities will be updated during the current Forever Forward season.

Double-Time Sunday is becoming Scenic Sunday, a new event focused on exploring less-traveled Routes. During Scenic Sunday, players will find more Pokémon when using Incense while on Routes, earn Buddy Candy faster, and have more chances to encounter Mateo – up to three times a day!

Some changes are coming next week! Fast-Track Mondays are ending, but Max Mondays will still happen. Tuesdays, which are usually for Showcases, will now let you participate in up to five Showcases. We’ll see how these updates work starting June 2nd.

Other Major Changes for the New Pokemon Go Season

I’m so excited for the Forever Forward season! It’s not just about the game updates, though – things are really shaking up with the seasonal content. We’ll have a brand new GO Pass to work through, and I can’t wait to collect all the new themed Stickers. Plus, a new season of the GO Battle League is starting, so there will be fresh challenges and competitions for everyone to jump into!

The game will also update Research Breakthrough and the Egg pool, changing the Pokémon available through those features. This is especially good news for players who use Adventure Sync, as it adds more variety to what they can find.
