Pokemon Pokopia Expansion Pass Update Teases Adorable New Feature & Confirms 2 New Pokemon

The recent Nintendo Direct showcased the upcoming Pokemon Pokopia Expansion Pass, which will add new content to the Pokemon life simulation game in three parts. The first part is scheduled to launch in August 2026, and fans – including myself – are already speculating about what new features and Pokemon it will include. Now, early promotional images from retailers are surfacing, hinting at some of the new Pokemon and features that will be part of the expansion.

Serebii recently revealed a new piece of artwork related to the Expansion Pass. The image showcases Ditto using its upcoming Dive move, which will be added to the game in a free update alongside the first part of the downloadable content. While the move itself isn’t a surprise, the Pokémon swimming with Ditto is new. Plus, a detail in the artwork suggests a new feature might be coming to the game with the second part of the DLC.

Pokemon Accessories Likely Confirmed for Pokemon Pokopia DLC Alongside New Pokemon

The latest promotional image focuses on the upcoming Bubbly Basin DLC, showcasing it on the left side. The artwork includes two Water-type Pokémon likely to be added with this first expansion. One is Popplio, a Water-type starter from Generation 7, which we’ve already seen in previews for the Expansion Pass – so its inclusion wasn’t unexpected.

Alongside Ditto, another Pokémon confirmed to appear is Manaphy! This is great news because Manaphy, a Water-type Pokémon from Generation 4, hasn’t been widely available since its initial release and was originally only obtainable through a special egg in Pokémon Ranger. Seeing Manaphy swimming freely in Pokopia will be really fun. It’s also possible that this appearance suggests a new feature related to hatching eggs might be added to the game with the upcoming expansion.

It appears that Pokopia is already advertising the second part of its Expansion Pass, which is scheduled to come out later this year. The promotional artwork features the Pokémon Peakychu, who was originally released with the main game. Interestingly, Peakychu is shown wearing wings and a headband that aren’t currently available in Pokopia. The artwork also seems to confirm another new Pokémon, Snubble, and it’s also sporting some accessories.

It appears Pkoemon Pokopia is planning to let players dress up their Pokémon in costumes! This feels like a welcome addition and a bit surprising it wasn’t included originally. Since the next part of the game won’t add any new locations, this costume feature might be the biggest update. Hopefully, they’ll also include a Pokémon contest alongside it.

We’ll have a clearer idea of what the Bubbly Basin DLC offers when it’s released in August. While there aren’t firm dates yet for Parts 2 and 3, they’re planned for release in late 2026 and early 2027. You can pre-order the complete Pokemon Pokopia Expansion Pass now for $34.99.
