The eighth and final episode of The Boys Season 5 has concluded the Prime Video series, significantly changing the hierarchy of power among the show’s super-powered characters. Warning: Spoilers follow for Season 5, Episodes 1-8. The series finale saw the deaths of two of the most powerful characters, Homelander and Butcher, removing them from the power rankings and creating a major shift. Even Ryan, who survived the final battle with his father, lost his abilities. With a single burst of radiation, The Boys eliminated its most formidable players.
By the end of the season, The Boys has significantly fewer superpowered individuals remaining. While characters like Oh-Father, The Deep, and Cindy weren’t major players, their deaths leave Vought with limited options for replacements. Even the loss of Sister Sage, who had her mind wiped, creates a challenge. If Vought wants to rebuild its image, it will struggle to find new heroes as powerful as Ryan or Homelander. After the finale, these five appear to be the most formidable supes left.
5) Cate Dunlap

Now that most of the powerful adult heroes are gone or have lost their abilities, the young heroes in Gen V are looking like the most promising ones we’ve seen. They all have incredible potential, and Cate is likely the most powerful of them after Marie. While she isn’t particularly strong physically, her ability to control minds makes her a formidable opponent. She doesn’t have to fight directly – she can make people turn against each other or simply walk away. She can even change memories, completely altering how people see things. On a larger scale, Cate’s power is truly frightening. Her main weakness is that she has to physically touch someone to use her ability, which can be a problem against enemies who know what she can do.
4) Starlight

Starlight is a powerful character, but her strength isn’t just physical – she also has significant influence. The final scene of The Boys shows her skillfully using both. While she’s the public face of the fight against Homelander and possesses typical super strength and resilience, Starlight isn’t usually depicted as one of the most physically dominant heroes. In fact, the show often portrays her power level inconsistently. We’ve seen her use impressive abilities like blinding and incinerating opponents, and she’s even gone up against tough characters like Black Noir II. However, she’s also struggled in fights with villains like Oh-Father and The Deep. Despite these inconsistencies, she remains one of the few surviving supes, though she’s among the weakest.
3) Kimiko

Kimiko is a formidable superhero because she can quickly heal, making her incredibly difficult to defeat. She’s also a skilled fighter, trained from a young age as a soldier. While her physical strength is comparable to other supes, her combat expertise and resilience put her above Starlight in terms of power. Now that she can project energy blasts similar to Soldier Boy, she’s even more powerful than Annie and most of the characters in Gen V – it’s tough to say if she’s stronger than Marie, though. In Season 5, Episode 8 of The Boys, Kimiko’s blast takes out three of the most powerful supes at once, which is a major feat. Even with this new ability, she would still likely lose to Butcher, Ryan, or Homelander.
2) Marie Moreau

It’s hard to accurately gauge Marie Moreau’s power level because we haven’t seen the full extent of her abilities in Season 5 of The Boys. Gen V established her as someone who could potentially become as powerful as Homelander – she’s the only other person who survived Project Odessa, and she can even bring people back from the dead. Even without extra enhancements, her ability to control blood is incredibly dangerous, as Victoria Neuman shows. With those enhancements, she’s a truly unpredictable force. The latest season of The Boys implies she’s still learning to control her powers, which feels like a step backwards after everything we’ve seen in Gen V. However, she still has the potential to become one of the most powerful characters.
1) Soldier Boy

Despite being put back into a cryogenic freeze by Homelander, Soldier Boy survives through Season 5 of The Boys. As long as Marie can’t defeat him, he’s currently the most powerful super-powered individual in the show’s world. Throughout the series, Soldier Boy was consistently portrayed as second only to Homelander, so it makes sense he’d become the strongest after Homelander’s demise. While he doesn’t have Homelander’s abilities like flight or heat vision, Soldier Boy possesses incredible strength and is extremely durable. Thanks to Compound V1, he’s also immune to aging and the supe virus. Even though he’s currently frozen, the show’s ending suggests he could return in the future.
