The Legend of Vox Machina Will Bring Back Favorites, But Will Also Shake Things Up With

Season 4 of The Legend of Vox Machina premieres on June 3rd, bringing back many of the original cast from Critical Role. Viewers can once again hear Laura Bailey as Vex, Travis Willingham as Grog, Ashley Johnson as Pike, Liam O’Brien as Vax, Taliesin Jaffe as Percy, Marisha Ray as Keyleth, and Sam Riegel as Scanlan. Matthew Mercer will also be returning in various roles throughout the new season.

Season 4 will feature both returning and new characters, including Taryon. Originally played by Travis Willingham in the first Critical Role campaign, Taryon will be portrayed by Wayne Brady this season. Taryon’s arrival brings an interesting dynamic to the group – he starts as a skilled monster hunter but quickly becomes an inexperienced adventurer after a mysterious event.

As the story progresses, Taryon grows into his role as an adventurer, and we see him experience his first kill. The group also learns about his complicated relationship with his father, which is why he embarked on this journey. Later, a funny scene involving soul stones stands out as a particularly memorable moment in the show.

The new season begins roughly a year after the last one, and the group will face a powerful, ancient evil that has awakened with the goal of destroying their world. The show has been renewed for a fifth and final season, which will bring the story to a conclusion.

Fans of Critical Role have more to look forward to! A second season of The Mighty Nein is currently being made, and season 4 of The Legend of Vox Machina will premiere on Prime Video on June 3, 2026.
