If you’re ready to have all the feels, come and get ’em.
When Demi Lovato’s ‘It’s Not That Deep’ tour kicked off, Selena Gomez surprised fans by visiting her longtime friend backstage. The appearance marked the first new photo of the pair together in nearly ten years.
Seeing them together definitely warmed people’s hearts, but as the former Princess Protection Program co-stars have consistently shown, their close friendship isn’t based on how often they see each other.
Demi Lovato shared with MTV News in April 2013, after Selena Gomez’s first solo success with ‘Come & Get It,’ that they’ve experienced ups and downs in their friendship. She explained that there were times when they drifted apart and stopped communicating for a while.
But not being in constant contact “doesn’t invalidate” a friendship, she added. “You know when you can pick up with someone right where you left off.”
Gomez later shared a selfie with Lovato, taken a few months after the initial event, and wrote, “This is proof of a lasting bond, no matter what happens, @ddlovato.”
By that point, the former Disney Channel stars had already gotten through the period when Taylor Swift’s involvement caused drama. This started in January 2010 when Demi Lovato responded to a fan asking about Selena Gomez and a suggestion Taylor had made.

A brief encounter outside a London hotel sparked a lot of speculation about a celebrity feud. It started with Demi Lovato being friendly with Taylor Swift. Then, after Lovato’s breakup with Joe Jonas, Swift briefly dated him. Following that, Swift and Selena Gomez became close friends… and people started talking. What do you think happened?
When Lovato struggled at the end of 2010 and entered rehab, Gomez and Swift were among those who offered support. This helped to disprove rumors that a falling out between them was caused by Gomez’s friend group.
Okay, so Selena finally admitted it – Demi and she weren’t speaking for a really long time! And honestly? She said she totally understood why, and that she was partly to blame. It’s just… everything makes so much more sense now, you know? I always knew they had something special, and it’s good she’s being real about what happened. It just breaks my heart a little, but I respect her honesty so much!
I’ve been friends with her since we were both seven, but we did have a falling out for a while. She was going through a difficult time, and I was young and didn’t really understand what was happening. I dealt with it by distancing myself, which I now realize wasn’t fair. I’m just really glad we’re friends again now.” Selena told Seventeen magazine in 2014, when she and Demi Lovato were both 21.

Gomez also shared that Demi is incredibly strong and the one person she completely trusts with her most private thoughts and feelings. She emphasized that Demi is the only person she’d confide in like that.
The speculation about the singers’ relationship didn’t stop there. Later that year, Lovato unfollowed Gomez, explaining on Watch What Happens Live! that people simply drift apart as they change. Meanwhile, Gomez publicly highlighted Swift as one of the very few industry friends she’d stayed close to.
In 2015, the popular ‘#forever’ hashtags reappeared as they celebrated each other’s birthdays, and everything felt good again.
In September 2015, Selena Gomez described Demi Lovato as family, telling Entertainment Tonight that it was wonderful to see someone she’d known for a long time achieve success.
In 2016, Selena Gomez stepped back from public life to prioritize her mental wellbeing. The following year, when health issues related to lupus required a kidney transplant, Demi Lovato publicly praised Gomez’s courage.
Lovato told People magazine that she believes Selena Gomez is a very strong person and expressed how happy and proud she is of her, following Gomez’s announcement about recovering from a procedure.

Gomez later complimented the 2017 documentary Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated, calling it “beautiful” in an Instagram post that October. She also wrote that she admired Lovato’s honesty and courage, and wished more people were like her.
Their connection goes way back to their shared experiences as child stars, and despite going their separate ways, they’ve remained linked ever since. That bond, formed 26 years ago, always seems to bring them back together.
Lovato recently shared on the Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast that having Selena Gomez as a friend from their time on Barney & Friends made joining the Disney Channel much easier. They felt a sense of security knowing they already had a close friend there and expressed lasting gratitude for their continued friendship.

Selena Gomez, a longtime supporter of Demi Lovato, enthusiastically shared her reaction on Instagram after attending Lovato’s It’s Not That Deep concert in Orlando on April 13th. She wrote that she was deeply moved and called it one of the best shows she’d ever seen, especially praising Lovato’s incredible vocals.

Their connection started when the Oscar-winning actress emailed Schumer after seeing her 2015 movie, Trainwreck. Lawrence admitted she wrote, ‘I don’t know where to begin, but I have to say it: I’m in love with you.’ They began emailing back and forth, which eventually turned into texting.

Schumer was surprised when Lawrence accepted, but quickly realized Lawrence was just incredibly cool and fit right in with the group. She said Lawrence was easygoing and felt like one of the gang.

I’m absolutely thrilled these two finally seem to be connecting! For years, I’ve dreamed of a collaboration between Drake and Adele – 19 Grammys between them, it had to happen! I was so excited to hear Adele talk about wanting to do an official remix, and she’s such a big fan! She even bought the red coat from Drake’s video – that’s how much she loves his work! And Drake? He said he’d do laundry for her! Seriously! Instead of housework, they’ve been hanging out, grabbing food and even hitting the bowling alley. It’s just the beginning, and I’m already hoping for that remix – maybe they’ll even give us a call when it drops!

The friendship between two prominent television figures began in 1976 while they worked at a Baltimore station. Although they held different positions – one was an anchor and the other a production assistant – they didn’t often interact socially, due to the typical newsroom structure, as Gayle King recalled in an interview with Oprah Winfrey. However, when a major snowstorm hit, Winfrey invited King, who earned $12,000 a year as a PA, to stay with her. The next day, they went shopping at the mall, and a lasting friendship began, sparked by a shared interest in sweaters at Casual Corner.

While your dates probably don’t involve Wimbledon finals or royal palaces, Meghan Markle and Serena Williams’ friendship started just like many others—with casual conversation. Meghan wrote on her now-closed website, The Tig, that they connected instantly at a 2014 Super Bowl event. They spent time taking pictures, laughing during a flag football game, and chatting about everyday things – not tennis or acting, but typical ‘girl talk’.

Even though Game of Thrones is over, the close bond between Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams remains strong. Williams, who was a bridesmaid at Turner’s wedding to Joe Jonas in 2019, playfully suggests that the show’s greatest achievement wasn’t its 12 Emmy awards. She told TopMob News at the final season premiere that the series felt like a long and complex journey to find her best friend. “It’s been incredible,” she said, “and having a friend like Sophie throughout something as intense as Game of Thrones was a true blessing.”

Okay, seriously, who didn’t tear up seeing Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively completely lose it when their oldest, James, recognized Taylor Swift’s “Gorgeous” at the concert? Blake even called the video embarrassing, but in the best way – she said it was a totally real, unfiltered glimpse of how proud they are as stage parents. But beyond that adorable moment, their friendship with Taylor is just so genuine. From their Fourth of July celebrations at Taylor’s place to hanging out at Ryan and Blake’s country home and even appearing in Taylor’s music videos, it’s a connection that deserves all the love and protection. I’m a huge fan of all of them, and it just warms my heart to see!

Despite feeling a little awkward, Witherspoon recalls Aniston being incredibly kind, and the two have been close friends ever since.

Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg have an unlikely but captivating friendship that blossomed at the 2015 Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber. It later continued with their VH1 cooking show, Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party. Snoop Dogg explained to LA Weekly that Martha is different from people he’s usually around, but also surprisingly relatable. He appreciates that she’s genuine and down-to-earth, despite coming from a different generation. He described their connection as feeling like a true partnership, a ‘holy matrimony’ rather than just a casual friendship.
