As we reported previously, a February State of Play is imminent, and it’s tipped for later this week.
Industry insiders Nate the Hate and Jeff Grubb are suggesting Sony will hold a livestream on February 12th. While plans could change, these two are highly trusted sources for gaming news.
PlayStation’s presentations have become unpredictable – their quality can vary a lot, making it hard to know what to expect.
We expect games like Marathon, Resident Evil Requiem, and Saros to be included, since they’re releasing very soon.
Sony recently announced Guerrilla’s new multiplayer game, Horizon Hunters Gathering, so it’s unlikely we’ll see surprises like Fairgames or 4Loop at the show.
We might finally get news about the long-anticipated 2.5D Metroidvania game based on God of War, and possibly learn what studios like Firesprite have been developing.
However, it’s best to keep your expectations realistic: Sony typically only showcases updates for one or two games from their internal studios during these presentations, so try not to expect too much to avoid being let down.
We’ll let you know the schedule and other specifics as soon as the State of Play is officially revealed.
