This summer, The Game Bakers invites players back to Cairn, their PlayStation 5 climbing game, with the release of the first in a series of free downloadable content packs.
The first update, called “On the Trail,” introduces new climbing spots, tougher challenges, and a daring activity called “water soloing.” According to the official description, players can “find their own path, tackle unique climbing puzzles, and discover breathtaking new locations while following in the footsteps of a famous climber.”
We’re following up on a cool PS5 climbing game we told you about when it came out in early 2026, and now there’s even more to experience!
In our review, we gave Cairn a 7/10 and praised it as an excellent climbing simulator. It lets you explore a whole mountain with complete freedom. The game adds just enough survival elements to keep you motivated, and its deliberate slow pace makes you think carefully about each climb and plan your route effectively.
