Pearl Abyss hasn’t released a new update for Crimson Desert just yet, but they’ve detailed what’s coming in the future. A key feature will be boss rematches – players will be able to fight bosses they’ve already defeated to test their skills, improve their combat style, and try out different strategies.
To keep the late game challenging, we’re adding a ‘re-blockading’ feature. This means previously liberated locations can be re-taken by enemies, giving you more opportunities to fight. We’re also including three difficulty levels – Easy, Normal, and Hard – so you can customize the challenge to your liking.
The developer mentioned they’re creating new content centered around combat. This could be the faction wars feature fans have been anticipating, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Damiane and Oongka will soon gain new abilities similar to Kliff’s Force Palm and Axiom Force. Players will also be able to hide weapons on their characters’ backs. Plus, outfits previously only available for selling or donating will become usable, giving players more ways to customize their appearance. It’s currently unclear if this will include previously damaged gear.
In addition to increasing the main storage chest to 1,000 slots, Pearl Abyss is introducing dedicated storage options for things like crafting ingredients, outfits, and raw materials like ores and insects. You’ll also be able to safely store recipes and quest items, which will help keep your inventory clear without having to discard or sell them.
We’re adding even more pets and mounts, complete with new armor options for them. We’re also improving the user interface by letting you change the smallest font size and customize your controller settings. Plus, the game’s distant landscapes will look significantly better thanks to a major visual upgrade.
These changes are significant enough that they might be released separately, rather than all at once. Pearl Abyss hasn’t announced a specific date for when all of these features will be available, so they’ll likely be added to the game gradually over the next few months.
Crimson Desert is now available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. As of today, over four million copies have been sold.
