As a big fan of Arizona Sunshine, I always figured the simplest thing Vertigo Games could do to move beyond just being a PSVR2 game would be to release a regular, flat-screen version. But honestly, this new third-person take feels like they went above and beyond just doing that – it’s a really different experience!
This new game, called Arizona Sunshine, is causing problems for our game database. We’ve had to rename the older versions to Arizona Sunshine VR. Honestly, this is going to create a lot of issues with our outdated content management system. Thanks a lot.
This game feels a lot like Arizona Sunshine, but viewed through the lens of a Resident Evil experience. Honestly, without the immersive element of virtual reality, it appears somewhat bland and uninspired. I get that the developers want to appeal to a wider audience, but I’m not convinced the summer setting will be enough to make this game truly stand out.
You’ll be able to play with a friend locally via split-screen or online. There’s even an option to play as the dog, Buddy! However, the gunplay in the trailer doesn’t look very exciting, so I’m still on the fence about this game.
It’s due out in 2026 at some point, although no specific release date has been attached.
