Red Dead Redemption is now playable on the PlayStation 5, and owners of the PlayStation 4 version can upgrade to the new version for free.
The game now runs at a smooth 60 frames per second on the PS5 thanks to backwards compatibility, and this updated version also includes several improvements, plus you can carry over your saved progress.
As we mentioned before, a new collection of Trophies has been released, but they are exactly the same as those found in the PlayStation 4 version.
The Rockstar release is a relatively small download at only 9.730GB – especially for today’s games. If you’d rather not download it, you can also play it through cloud streaming with a PS Plus Premium subscription on either your PS5 console or PS Portal device.
It goes without saying Red Dead Redemption is one of the greatest open world games ever made.
When we first reviewed this game on the PS3, we said it was unbelievably realistic – and I totally agree! I’m so excited to get the chance to play it all over again; it really pulls you in.
