Capcom is continuing its success in 2026. Their new game, Resident Evil Requiem, has already sold seven million copies in under two months after launching in February. Director Koshi Nakanishi shared the news on Instagram (as reported by TwistedVoxel), celebrating with a party and two cakes – one for each of the game’s main characters.
As a huge fan, I was so excited to hear that Requiem has already sold over six million copies in under three weeks! According to Mat Piscatella at Circana, it’s become the fifth best-selling game in the whole series here in the US, which is incredible. At this rate, it looks like Requiem might actually be the fastest-selling game in the franchise yet!
Resident Evil Requiem is now available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. It’s a great game, particularly for fans who want to finish the story of Raccoon City. A unique feature is the ability to switch between playing in first-person and third-person, and you’ll control two different characters with distinct survival horror styles.
More content is on the way, including a story expansion rumored to center around Leon Kennedy and potentially include Ada Wong. Capcom also plans to add a new mini-game, and recent discoveries suggest the popular Mercenaries mode could make a comeback.
