Get ready for the next Resident Evil game! Pre-orders are now open, and if you need a refresher on the story so far, Capcom has you covered. They’ve released a detailed, almost 11-minute video recapping everything that’s happened in the series up to this point. You can watch it below.
If you’re still on the fence, the game is narrated by Maggie Robertson, the actress who famously played Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village. While Leon S. Kennedy, who many expected to appear with Grace Ashcroft, isn’t shown yet, there’s still a chance he’ll be revealed. We might find out more at the upcoming Resident Evil Showcase, which promises to share a lot more details about Resident Evil Requiem.
The boss battles in this game are similar to those in the original Resident Evil games, requiring players to use their surroundings and problem-solving skills to succeed. Producer Masato Kumazawa has stated that while longtime fans will get even more out of the game, newcomers will still be able to fully enjoy it without prior knowledge. However, players who want a refresher can watch the story recap provided.
The new game, Resident Evil Requiem, will release on February 27, 2026, and will be playable on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. It will cost $69.99.
