Fans won’t have to wait much longer for the new season of Rick and Morty, which returns May 24th on Cartoon Network! Adult Swim has changed its streaming release plans, so episodes will now be available online much sooner after they air on TV. Previously, the show wasn’t released on streaming at the same time as other Adult Swim shows, but that’s changing with season nine.
The ninth season of Rick and Morty is coming much sooner than expected! Originally planned for August 31st, new episodes will now be available on Hulu and HBO Max starting June 15th. While details about the new season are still under wraps, Cartoon Network promises it’s packed with great content, created by real people—even if they’ve been neglecting their families to make it! They describe it as “Grade A organic slop” – meaning high-quality, but still delightfully weird.

I’m really excited about the upcoming ninth season of Rick and Morty, and Adult Swim’s president, Michael Ouweleen, seems to be too! He recently shared that he believes this season will be even better than the last, and honestly, he’s not just saying that as part of his job. He says the team is consistently bringing an incredible level of talent and creativity to each episode. According to him, from the very beginning, you can expect mind-bending ideas combined with some truly excellent character development. It sounds like it’s going to be a fantastic season!

Don’t worry, fans of Rick and Morty! Adult Swim has confirmed many more episodes are on the way. The show has been renewed for a total of twelve seasons, so it’s far from over. With the series’ willingness to explore endless possibilities through the multiverse, expect plenty of unexpected twists and turns.
