Rihanna Closes Out Met Gala in Dress With Over 115,000 Jewels

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky turned heads at the Met Gala in New York City on May 4th. It was their first public appearance together since a shooting incident at their home in Los Angeles back in March.

The nine-time Grammy winner made a stunning appearance at the charity event, embracing the “Costume Art” theme with a breathtaking gown by Maison Margiela. The dress, covered in over 115,000 crystal beads and antique jewels, was hand-sculpted and included a dramatic bronze hooded cape. According to Vogue, it took an incredible 1,380 hours to create.

Her partner, who is the father of their three children – RZA, age 3, Riot, age 2, and baby Rocki, 7 months – wore a custom-made pink robe from Chanel. The robe was made of wool with black satin details.

Rihanna, as usual, was a highly anticipated guest at the yearly fundraising gala. She’s famous for her stunning style and has a knack for making a grand, late entrance, often closing out the event.

Last year, at the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” gala, which Rocky helped host, the couple chose the event’s steps as the setting to announce they were expecting their third child, revealing a growing baby bump.

Becoming a mother has influenced her fashion choices, and she jokingly admitted during Paris Fashion Week in January that she couldn’t choose just one favorite outfit from the runway.

In a TikTok interview, she explained she was hoping to find certain clothes – coats, dresses, and skirts. She specifically wanted skirts that flared out a bit at the stomach, saying she wanted something to flatter her figure after having children.
