There’s a possibility Saints Row could make a comeback, depending on whether Chris Stockman, one of the original designers, can persuade Embracer Group to revive the series.
Last month, Stockman publicly shared his dissatisfaction with the 2022 Saints Row reboot in an interview. He also suggested he might be interested in leading a new Saints Row game if the opportunity arose.
It appears he’s made a breakthrough! Stockman announced on the Saints Row subreddit that he’s been asked to propose ideas for a prequel to the Saints Row game.
He couldn’t share any further details, but he excitedly revealed that his vision for the game is starting to become a reality.
It’s still too soon to know if this positive development will lead anywhere, but fans of the series are definitely excited and will be following closely.
So, I recently found out that Steve Stockman, one of the original creators, actually left the team behind Saints Row pretty soon after the very first game came out. That means he hasn’t worked on the series for a really long time, but wow, he’s still super passionate about it! It’s cool to see someone who helped start it all still cares so much.
During the interview, Stockman said he’d be very interested in making a prequel to Saints Row, setting the game in the past, if given the opportunity.
He thought it would be fun to feature a group of teenagers – the same ones who starred in the original game – and really embrace a 1970s aesthetic, complete with big hairstyles, flared pants, and music from that era.
Are you interested in a Saints Row game set in the past? Do you think Stockman could successfully bring the series back? Let us know your thoughts – and show your support by sharing purple in the comments!
