
During the recent State of Play, Housemarque showcased the first gameplay footage for their new game, *Saros*, and announced its release date. They’re not developing it alone, however. PlayStation Studios Creative Arts, the team behind *Returnal*, and PC porting experts Nixxes are both playing major roles in the game’s creation.
Nixxes is working directly with the team at Housemarque to refine the game’s art and gameplay. Meanwhile, PlayStation Studios Creative Arts is handling the music and sound. Adding to the impressive audio experience is composer Sam Slater, a Grammy Award winner known for his work on projects like *Chernobyl*, *Joker*, and *Mandy*, among others.
Housemarque will share more details about the game’s story, characters, and the Carcosa colony soon. They’ll also explain how the music for *Saros* was created closer to the game’s release, so keep an eye out for updates.
I’m so hyped for *Saros*! It’s coming out on March 20th, 2026, and will be on PS5 – and even better, it’ll support the PS5 Pro! The developers are building it with Unreal Engine 5, but they’ve said the gameplay footage we’ve seen so far is still a work in progress, which just means it’s going to look even more amazing when it’s finally released.
