Shonen Jump may soon announce a new anime project, as a countdown has begun for a currently unknown reveal. The magazine has seen a lot of shifts recently, with new series starting and others finishing or nearing their conclusions. However, many of these popular stories are also being adapted into anime, helping them reach wider audiences.
Fans are eagerly anticipating what’s next for Joumyaku and Mizuki Yoda’s *Marriagetoxin*. The series has been popular on Shonen Jump+ since 2022, and many are hoping it will soon be adapted for television, similar to how *Spy x Family* has expanded. With other series like *Kaiju No. 8* concluding, *Marriagetoxin* is gaining attention as a potential next hit, especially with a new announcement scheduled for October 1st in Japan.

『マリッジトキシン』重大発表までカウントダウンスタート!

The official social media for *Marriagetoxin* has begun a countdown to an announcement on October 1st, and fans are hoping it’s news about a new anime series. While there’s no concrete evidence yet, a countdown would be a logical way to build excitement for an anime reveal. However, the announcement could also be related to the manga itself, like a new release. That would be a letdown for those hoping for an anime adaptation, though.
The countdown could also be building up to the announcement of the manga’s final story arc. While this would get fans hyped, it would be disappointing if it meant the series was ending, especially since several other popular manga in Shonen Jump have recently finished. Hopefully, the countdown is for an anime adaptation instead, though it’s even possible we’ll get both an anime announcement and news about the manga ending, as has happened with other series.
What Is Marriagetoxin Anyway?

Joumyaku and Mizuki Yoda’s *Marriagetoxin* is part of the wave of action series from Shonen Jump 2020 featuring assassins. While many stories at the time focused on assassins concealing their abilities or fighting to survive, *Marriagetoxin* adds a romantic twist. The story centers on a protagonist who teams up with a self-proclaimed “marriage expert” – actually a con artist – to prevent his sister from being forced into a marriage arranged to produce an heir.
An anime adaptation of this series would be something special, following in the footsteps of other popular titles from Shonen Jump+ that have already been animated, such as *Spy x Family, DAN DA DAN, 2.5 Dimensional Seduction, Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku,* and *Kaiju No. 8*, among others.
