After weeks of speculation and a rating revealed by the ESRB, the release date for Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 on Xbox Series X/S has been accidentally published on Microsoft’s online store. True Achievements, which monitors the Xbox Store, found the listing (and shared a screenshot), indicating a release date of November 21st.
Based on the image, the game will include Xbox cloud saves, Achievements, and other features. A Deluxe Edition appears to be planned, which will come with a digital art book and soundtrack. The game is confirmed for Xbox Series X/S and PC, though it’s currently unclear if it will support Xbox Play Anywhere.
The game listing might not be final, so we’ll need to wait for an official announcement. If a remake of Silent Hill 2 unexpectedly releases for Xbox in the next few weeks, does that mean we’ll also see Born from a Wish, the extra story content that’s been rumored for a while as paid downloadable content?
Salóme Rannveig Gunnarsdóttir, the actress who plays Maria in the original game, stated that Bloober Team hadn’t reached out to her about a potential sequel. Despite this, narrative designer Grzegorz Like hinted at one, responding to a fan question with, “Born from what?” and an eye emoji.
