Full Circle, the studio behind PS5 and PS4’s Skate, has announced a round of layoffs.
The number of people affected has not been disclosed.
An official update on the Skate website shares news about what’s next for the game.
The studio is being reorganized to ensure its continued success and to allow the team to concentrate on delivering the best possible experience for players.
The company acknowledged that some positions will be eliminated, but didn’t specify the number of employees affected.
We’re saying goodbye to some incredibly talented and valued team members – friends who were instrumental in building the core of our game. Their creativity and hard work are still felt by players today, and this decision doesn’t diminish their contributions. We’re dedicated to helping them through this change.
Following this update, the team at Full Circle plans to keep developing the game while focusing on improving their speed, being more responsive to player feedback, and releasing updates regularly.
After being announced a long time ago, the skateboarding game Skate was finally released in an early access version last September.
This is a fresh start for the popular skateboarding game, and it’s free to play! You’ll explore a huge online city with tons of places to skate and challenges to complete with friends and other players.
The game itself plays really well and delivers the experience Skate fans want, but many other aspects have been criticised. These include the graphics, how the game is organised, and how players unlock content and how the game makes money.
Full Circle has consistently added new content to the game, including features, items, challenges, and seasonal events, but updates have been slow to arrive, leading to player frustration.
Things recently came to a head with the announcement of Skate 3. While the tutorial island is returning and getting bigger, access to it is surprisingly limited. This goes against an earlier pledge not to restrict players from new map content.
Whether the game can bounce back following these layoffs remains to be seen.
