Following the recent announcement of a new expansion for the skateboarding game Skate, developer Full Circle has revealed some staff changes. The company is restructuring its team, which will unfortunately affect a number of employees, to better focus on supporting and developing the game. Skate initially gained popularity but saw a decrease in players over time.
Although more layoffs are never good news, Full Circle is making sure to recognize and thank the departing team members for their work on the game. They’re also expressing gratitude to their loyal player community.
We’re saying goodbye to some incredibly talented and valued colleagues and friends who were instrumental in building Skate. Their creativity and hard work are still felt in the game today, and this decision doesn’t diminish their contributions. We’re committed to helping them through this change. To those leaving the team: thank you. Skate wouldn’t be what it is without your dedication and passion.
Work on Skate is still underway. The team is now organized to better listen to player feedback, which has been incredibly important in building the game’s community during its early access phase.
We’re still actively developing Skate! We’re excited to keep collaborating with you all and are focused on improving the game more quickly, paying closer attention to your feedback, and consistently delivering quality updates. We’re deeply committed to Skate and to the players who support it.
It remains to be seen if Skate will become the game its fans envision, but exciting new content is planned for the coming months. Hopefully, the development team will continue building the community-focused experience that was originally intended.
Skate is now playable on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. It’s been available as a free-to-play early access game since September 2025.
