ANIPLEX, a company owned by Sony, has announced a new and updated version of their 2021 fighting game, Melty Blood: Type Lumina, called Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina.
The game will launch on both the PS5 and PS4 in 2027.
Not much is known yet, beyond a brief promotional video, but the game is being developed once again by Japanese studio French-Bread.
The press release reads the following:
Melty Blood: Type Lumina has returned with improvements! The game features smoother combat, a roster of new fighters, and a renewed story of conflict set within a dreamlike world.
This game takes place earlier in the timeline than the popular visual novel, Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon.
Some players might be disappointed about this fighter being re-released, but it’s important to remember that all the extra characters added to the original game were free. Considering that, French-Bread has certainly earned the chance to release this again.
Although the project is currently planned for a 2027 release, we likely won’t hear many details about it until later this year. It’s definitely something to watch for, however.
