Sony’s PS5, PC Fighting Game Marvel Tokon Is Teasing a ‘Surprise’ at EVO Japan

Okay, so Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is really starting to build hype with the release date of August 6th just around the corner. It looks like the next big reveal will be at EVO Japan – I’m super excited to see what they show off!

I’m super excited because the big fighting game tournament is happening right now in Tokyo! It kicked off today, May 1st, 2026, and it’s going to be awesome all weekend long, wrapping up on Sunday, May 3rd.

Good news for Tokon fans! Arc System Works, the game’s developer, is planning to share some exciting news soon.

Okay, so I saw a post saying if you tune into the EVO Japan stream on Sunday – that’s the last day of the event – there’s gonna be a surprise related to the game. They’re keeping it vague, but it sounds like something cool is coming!

We’re guessing this could be a new trailer revealing a couple of additional characters you can play as.

Tokon is introducing new characters through trailers that showcase them as part of teams, combining previously revealed fighters with brand new ones.

We anticipate potentially seeing something similar happen again during this event. While it’s not official yet, we’re guessing Tokon’s “surprise” might be another public beta test – it’s hard to say for sure what they have planned.
