The initial release of Splitgate 2 faced significant challenges. Now, 1047 Games has launched Splitgate: Arena Reloaded, a completely reworked version that combines the best features of both games, streamlining the experience by removing factions and special abilities.
The game has had a much better start on Steam compared to its recent performance, reaching 2,297 players at its peak on launch day. However, it didn’t quite match the popularity of the original game’s launch, which drew 25,785 players. Although the overall user reviews are still mixed, recent feedback has been mostly positive, with 76% of the 540 users who reviewed it recommending it.
Splitgate: Arena Reloaded is also playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4, which could help boost player numbers overall.
The game’s relaunch brings back popular features like collectible items – including powerful Legendary Weapons and helpful power-ups. It also features a Classic Arena mode where everyone starts with the same gear, a completely redesigned progression system, and five brand new maps. Players can now use the new Railgun power weapon, along with three new Light Machine Guns: the Velocity, Barrage, and Strata. You can find more information here.
