Spy x Family Ends Latest Arc With a Shocking Twist

Please be aware that this article contains spoilers from the Spy x Family manga. The popular action series Spy x Family finished its third season in December, and fans are eagerly waiting for news about a fourth. Meanwhile, the manga is at a very important point in the story, particularly after the Term Break Arc gave us more information about the main villain, Donovan Desmond. While the anime has only hinted at the mysteries surrounding him, the manga has already revealed significant plot twists. Donovan Desmond remains the key target of Operation Strix and is still a very enigmatic character. Despite Anya Forger earning four Stella Stars, Loid Forger is still far from completing Operation Strix.

In the latest chapter of the series, Loid and Yor go on a date that’s unexpectedly broadcast on live television – with a little interference from Yuri! Things quickly go wrong when a dangerous group threatens everyone watching, and the three of them are caught up in the resulting chaos. The creator, Tatsuya Endo, has announced on X (formerly Twitter) that this current story arc has now finished.

Spy x Family Features Loid’s Dilemma as a Spy

In a surprising act, Loid immediately risked his life to protect Yor, still believing her to be a regular citizen. This was unusual for such a seasoned spy, especially considering the importance of his mission, Operation Strix. The success of Operation Strix is vital to preventing another war between Westalis and Ostania.

Beyond the danger, a spy dying during a mission creates problems for the organization, often leaving clues behind. Despite understanding this, Loid didn’t fully appreciate the risk until Yor pointed out how easily he could have been killed. Having worked as an assassin for years, Yor understands the fragility of life better than anyone. Loid admitted he’d made a mistake, but he was also puzzled by the strong emotions he was experiencing.

Yor has consistently shown her feelings for Loid, and she truly cares for Anya as well. Loid, though, has been so focused on his mission that he’s been convincing himself everything is about achieving his goal. He hasn’t noticed that he’s already starting to care for Yor and Anya. This recent event is the first sign he’s becoming aware of his true emotions, and he’ll likely start questioning his dedication to the mission as the story continues.
