Adult Swim has become a hugely popular channel for animated shows, bringing many unique and bizarre series to audiences around the world. However, despite its success, not all of the talented actors and creators who’ve worked with the channel are currently thriving. Recently, a well-known voice actor from a classic Adult Swim show revealed he’s facing financial hardship and has launched a fundraising campaign to avoid homelessness, asking fans for support.
Carey Means, the voice of Frylock from Aqua Teen Hunger Force, recently asked fans for help through a GoFundMe campaign after becoming homeless. He’s already reached his fundraising goal, and donations are still coming in! To make ends meet, Means has been making and selling handmade plush toys of Frylock and other characters from the Adult Swim show. If you’d like to donate or share his GoFundMe, you can find it here. As of today, the fund has raised over $22,000 from more than 580 contributors.
Frylock Needs Help

In his GoFundMe message, Means explained that he and Carey started their business with money earned from conventions and his existing sewing machine. He’s been making the plushies for about a year, but time has flown by! They only recently registered the business as an official LLC because their sales reached a certain level. He emphasized that the funds from the GoFundMe will help cover essential living expenses like rent, utilities, internet, and food.
I only make about $20 to $30 profit on each toy, and I keep prices low so people can afford them. Honestly, this isn’t about making a lot of money – I do it because I love it. I’m hoping the business will grow, but right now, I need to cover basic expenses like food, electricity, and internet to keep the shop running and connect with customers. Any support is greatly appreciated! Thank you so much. Just so you know, I also have a regular job, and my husband, Carey, is working on getting disability benefits while managing his heart failure – a process that will likely take a year or more.
There’s currently no word on whether Aqua Teen Hunger Force will return for another season, meaning more work for its voice actor, Means. While the show last aired in 2023, bringing back beloved characters like Frylock, Master Shake, and Meatwad, a renewal hasn’t been announced despite its long history on Cartoon Network.
