Ingrid joins Street Fighter 6 next week, and Capcom has just released an almost 8-minute video to help players learn how to play her. The video covers everything from her basic moves to her most powerful attacks, called Critical Arts.
Capcom calls Ingrid a well-rounded fighter who uses a mix of attacks and ranged projectiles. She can also create Sun Crests, which boost the power of her moves – the more Crests used, the stronger the attack. While building up these Crests, she excels at keeping opponents away with various projectiles.
Ingrid excels at controlling space with a variety of zoning tools, but she’s also very capable in close-quarters fighting. She has a straightforward, reliable combo, and can make it even stronger by unlocking new moves with Sun Crests, which blend seamlessly with her regular attacks.
Ingrid’s main attack is the Sun Shot – a glowing orb that pauses for a moment before flying at her opponent. It’s useful for keeping enemies at a distance, but also effective in close-up fights to deal extra damage. Players can fire Sun Shots at various angles to trick opponents, or use them to defend against enemies who try to jump in.
As a player, I’m really liking how Ingrid’s Sun Flare works! It’s awesome for keeping the pressure on from a distance. If you’ve built up enough Sun Crests, you can fire a beam that covers the whole screen! Plus, a fully charged Sun Flare makes it way easier to follow up with some quick, damaging combos. It’s a great tool for controlling the match and getting in close.
Ingrid has a fascinating ability called Vanishing Sun that lets her teleport. This allows players to control how close or far they are from their opponent. It can be used to attack from the air or on the ground, or to create space and avoid damage. Ingrid also has powerful special attacks that can be boosted with Sun Crests, increasing their damage and extending attack combos.
Ingrid is coming to Street Fighter 6 on May 28th! Capcom also announced a free update at launch with new ways to level up your Avatar, including Random Avatar Matches and Avatar Arcade.
Random Avatar Matches lets players compete against each other online in fair fights. Avatar Arcade is a single-player experience where you battle against challenging computer-controlled opponents, called Masters. Each Master offers unique rewards and a way to improve your character.
Now that the planned downloadable content for Street Fighter 6‘s third year is ending, people are beginning to speculate about what the fourth year will bring. Recent reports suggest that Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy 7 could be added as a playable character.
Street Fighter 6 is available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
