Sources say that Strictly Come Dancing‘s It Takes Two show is set for a big refresh when it comes back in September.
The show is expected to return as a visual podcast, formatted like companion shows such as The Traitors: Uncloaked and The Apprentice: Unfinished Business.
According to a source close to the show, ‘It Takes Two’ is likely to be revamped with a new format – a video podcast. Plans for this significant change are reportedly close to being finalized.
However, BBC executives have noticed this format working well on other popular BBC One programs, most notably The Traitors, whose after-show, Uncloaked, attracted millions of viewers.
Podcasts and video podcasts are becoming increasingly popular with a wide range of listeners, so this change, while different, is actually a smart decision.
So, I was reading TopMob, and they asked about Strictly Come Dancing in 2026. The BBC basically said they’ll let us know the plans when they’re ready – pretty standard stuff, really. Basically, they haven’t announced anything yet, but it will happen!

Reports that Janette Manrara and Fleur East have been removed as hosts of the It Takes Two companion show are untrue, according to the BBC. The BBC stated it is incorrect to say either host has been let go.
The changes are happening after several popular stars left the show, including hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly, as well as professional dancers Karen Hauer, Nadiya Bychkova, Luba Mushtuk, and Michelle Tsiakkas.

The BBC hasn’t officially announced the professional dancers or who will host alongside Daly and Winkleman, but there’s a lot of public discussion and guessing about who will fill those roles.
News came out earlier this week that nine famous faces were secretly auditioning and testing their on-screen chemistry for the job of hosting the show.
Rylan Clark, Emma Willis, Tom Allen, Angela Scanlon, and Alex Jones were among those invited to audition for the role.
Bradley Walsh, Alison Hammond, La Voix, and Zoe Ball were also said to be considered for the role, but the BBC hasn’t officially announced who will be taking over from Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One and iPlayer later this year.
