In the early stages of the DC Universe’s development, several actors have expressed interest in portraying its Batman, with Robert Pattinson not returning for the role in future projects like “The Batman: Part II”. Instead, a new actor will take up the mantle of the Caped Crusader in “The Brave and The Bold”, directed by Andy Muschietti. Interestingly, another actor who has previously played a significant DC comic book character has also expressed interest in the lead role for this upcoming production.
During the Men of Steel panel at Fan Expo Canada this year, Tyler Hoechlin shared his aspiration to portray Batman. When queried about whether he had seen Robert Pattinson’s depiction of Batman in the new DC Universe and if he felt it was appropriate, Hoechlin gave an honest response. “I guess I’d rather say no, as I still want to play Batman,” Hoechlin stated during the panel (as reported by Screen Rant). “I think Rob Pattinson did an excellent job, and so did Matt Reeves. It was great, so I’m content for them to continue, but perhaps leave the door open…

Should Tyler Hoechlin Play Batman In the DC Universe?
Tyler Hoechlin played Superman for four seasons on The CW’s show “Superman and Lois.” Before taking on this role, he first appeared as Superman in “Supergirl.” He also portrayed Superman in several other DC shows on The CW such as “The Flash,” “Arrow,” “Batwoman,” and “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” during their crossover events over the years. Prior to being chosen for the Superman role, Hoechlin was often suggested by fans as a suitable Batman candidate, and there were whispers that he might be considered for the part in 2013.
In simpler terms, Hoechlin, known for his extensive experience portraying a renowned DC hero, would be an ideal candidate for Batman if the role were to be cast. James Gunn, co-head of DC Studios, might be missing out if he didn’t at least consider Hoechlin or have him try out for the part. However, it’s not just Hoechlin vying for the role; _Reacher_ actor Alan Ritchson also expresses interest in playing Batman and has gained support among DC fans due to his previous roles as Aquaman on _Smallville_ and Hawk in _Titans_. Both actors are strong contenders for the role.
It appears that DC Studios is prioritizing the release of “The Batman: Part II” in theaters before moving on to “The Brave and the Bold.” This decision makes sense as the studio aims to avoid releasing two Batman films in a single year, which could lead to brand confusion. Even though casting for “The Brave and the Bold” Batman has not begun yet, Hoechlin should be considered for the role due to his versatile acting skills demonstrated in shows like “Superman and Lois,” “Teen Wolf,” and the romantic comedy “Can You Keep a Secret?” Although Hoechlin’s resume may not be as extensive as other actors, he has the potential to portray the brooding and intense side of Bruce Wayne effectively, much like how David Corenswet has risen in fame as Superman.
