The overnight ratings have been revealed for the premiere of Taskmaster season 21.
I was so excited to finally watch the new season! It’s great to have Greg Davies back as the host, and of course, Alex Horne is brilliant as always, keeping everything running smoothly. This time around, they had some amazing guests too – Kumail Nanjiani from ‘Eternals’ and Joanna Page, who I love from ‘Gavin & Stacey’! It all kicked off on Channel 4 last Thursday, April 9th.
The latest episode, featuring a worm hunt, helping Greg get his daily fruit and vegetables, and launching T-shirts, averaged 680,000 viewers, initial ratings show.
The viewership numbers will likely increase as people watch the episode on Channel 4’s streaming service, and the final official ratings aren’t available yet. The episode is also popular internationally, with the official YouTube version already having over 420,000 views.

Fans were quick to take to social media to express their delight at the show’s return too.
“Oh #Taskmaster will be a good series, proper strong series opener that one,” a viewer wrote on X.
Viewers were particularly excited about the season’s talented cast, including Armando Iannucci, known for ‘The Thick of It,’ comedian Amy Gledhill from ‘Last One Laughing,’ and Joel Dommett, the host of ‘The Masked Singer.’
“The casting in this series of #taskmaster is elite,” another viewer said.

Another added: “This is going to be an excellent series of #taskmaster. Brilliant cast yet again.”
Horne recently gave TopMob a mysterious preview of the upcoming season, suggesting it might have some surprising twists.
There’s a funny moment with Kumail Nanjiani where he reveals quite a bit about his private routine in his hotel room. You’ll have to watch to find out what it is!
He unexpectedly opened up, and I happened to be right there with him. It was a truly unique and unforgettable moment on Taskmaster – something we’d never seen before.
The new series of Taskmaster began on Channel 4 on Thursday, April 9th at 9pm. You can still enjoy older episodes on Channel 4’s streaming service.
