Summer Game Fest is packed with announcements! Between the main showcase – a two-hour stream of trailers and reveals – and a week of other events like State of Play and Wholesome Direct, it can be hard to follow everything. To make sure their news didn’t get lost in the shuffle, Paramount announced the creation of Paramount Games Studio on June 5th, and then revealed their first game during Summer Game Fest.
Paramount Games Studio is a new company formed by combining Skydance Interactive and Skydance New Media. They’re continuing work on games already in development, including Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra and a Star Wars title. Today, Paramount Games Studio also announced they will be publishing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, a game many thought had been cancelled. Fortunately, it’s still happening, developed by Platinum Games and published by the new studio.
TMNT: The Last Ronin Gets Official Summer Game Fest Reveal Trailer

We first heard about a video game based on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin quite a while ago. However, late last year, Paramount decided to pause development on a live-action movie adaptation, which made many worry the game might be canceled too. Thankfully, with a new trailer revealed at Summer Game Fest, it seems the game is still happening and we’ll be getting the game after all!
The first trailer for the upcoming game, The Last Ronin, is short and sweet, but confirms the key details. The TMNT game is still in development, and it’s being created by Platinum Games – known for games like Bayonetta – in partnership with the new Paramount Games Studio. You can watch the official announcement trailer from Summer Game Fest here:
We still don’t know when the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game will be released, but Paramount hasn’t cancelled it! The game, which is based on a darker version of the Turtles’ story, is confirmed to be coming to PC and consoles, though we don’t yet know which consoles those will be. Now that the game has been officially announced, we’re hoping to get more specific details soon.
