As a huge Star Wars fan, I’m telling you, Knights of the Old Republic isn’t just the best Star Wars game ever made – it’s one of the greatest RPGs period, and honestly, one of the best games I’ve ever played. And right now, you can get it for just $2! That’s the lowest price it’s ever been – an 80% discount! But here’s the catch: this amazing deal ends on November 3rd, so you’ve only got about 48 hours to grab it.
Fanatical is offering a great deal on Steam copies of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for just $2! While the game is also available on Nintendo Switch at its regular price, this Steam deal is a steal – roughly $0.04 per hour of gameplay. Many fans consider it one of the greatest Star Wars experiences ever created, and even after 22 years, we believe it’s still the best Star Wars game you can play in 2025.
About the Game
If you haven’t heard of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, it’s probably because you were too young to play video games when it was released. Often called KOTOR, this role-playing game (RPG) was created by BioWare, the studio now known for the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series. However, KOTOR came out before BioWare created those games and before it was purchased by EA.
Originally launched in 2003 for the Xbox, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic takes place almost 4,000 years before the rise of the Galactic Empire. The story centers around a conflict where Darth Malak, a powerful Sith Lord, is leading a massive army against the Galactic Republic. The fate of the Republic rests on the shoulders of one of the last remaining Jedi.
When it first came out, the Star Wars game received a score of 94 on Metacritic, making it one of the best games of its time. Many believe it would be considered BioWare’s greatest achievement if Mass Effect 2 hadn’t been released. While the graphics and gameplay haven’t aged well by 2025, the story remains excellent. The writing, plot, and characters are still outstanding.
You can also get the sequel, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, on Fanatical for the same low price – it’s the best deal ever offered on that game! While it wasn’t made by the same team and isn’t quite as highly regarded as the first game, it’s still a very good RPG from that era.
