The Comeback is making… a comeback.
The popular sitcom by Lisa Kudrow, famously mocking the TV industry, will make a comeback for its third and concluding season over a decade since its last airing, as confirmed by HBO.
Additionally, Dan Bucatinsky, Laura Silverman, and Damian Young will continue to play their characters in the series.
Valerie Cherish, as it turns out, has reappeared in today’s TV world, according to a joint statement by King and Kudrow. It’s no wonder to either of them that she managed to do so.
Amy Gravitt, HBO’s Executive Vice President for Comedy Programming, also commented: “Valerie Cherish has proven time and again that she’s a survivor, no matter the challenges. In celebration of her 20th anniversary, Michael Patrick King and Lisa Kudrow have crafted an exceptional script for her comeback to HBO, and we’re excitedly looking forward to it.
The show initially premiered back in 2005, then made a comeback in 2014. It starred Valerie Cherish, portrayed by Jennifer Aniston, who was a well-known sitcom actress trying to restart her career after a decade of absence, eventually deciding to join a reality TV program.
In the second attempt, Valerie aimed to create her personal reality TV show pilot, all while being cast as a fictionalized character based on herself in a fresh HBO series.
Previous two seasons garnered widespread praise, earning Kudrow nominations for Best Actress in a Comedy Series on each occasion. Therefore, expectations run high that the third installment will continue this successful trend.
