The latest and perhaps most frightening installment in the horror series is coming soon to your home. The Conjuring: Last Rites is the fourth main movie featuring Ed and Lorraine Warren, and it marks the final appearance of Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga in their iconic roles. Following its release in theaters earlier this month, The Conjuring: Last Rites is now becoming available for streaming and rental on various video-on-demand services.
On Tuesday, Warner Bros. shared that The Conjuring: Last Rites will be available to buy or rent digitally starting October 7th. The 4K UHD and Blu-ray versions will then be released on November 25th. To mark the news, ComicBook is working with Warner Bros. to show a special, first-look clip from “Last Rites: An Era Ends,” which is one of the bonus features on the home video release. You can watch it below!
The short video you saw is one of three bonus features on this home video release. It’s the longest of the three, with a runtime of eight minutes and 45 seconds.
Along with the short film “An Era Ends,” the The Conjuring: Last Rites Blu-ray release features “The Conjuring: Crafting Scares,” a slightly shorter piece, and a roughly seven-minute feature on director Michael Chaves, titled “Michael Chaves: Believer.” These three bonus features combine for over 24 minutes of extra content.
Currently, those three short features are the only extras confirmed to be included with the digital and physical releases of The Conjuring: Last Rites.
Here’s the official synopsis for the fourth and final Conjuring installment:
The Conjuring: Last Rites continues the exciting story of the famous Conjuring film series, inspired by true events. Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson return as Ed and Lorraine Warren, the well-known paranormal investigators, for one final, frightening case. This new installment is a strong addition to the incredibly successful franchise that has captivated audiences worldwide.
Along with the premiere of The Conjuring: Last Rites on October 7th, Warner Bros. is making a four-movie Conjuring collection available digitally. They’re also offering a nine-film set that includes everything in The Conjuring universe. A four-movie Conjuring collection will also be released on Blu-ray and DVD on November 25th.
We haven’t heard anything official about a complete 4K UHD release, but it seems likely to happen eventually. After The Conjuring got a 4K restoration earlier this year, The Conjuring 2 is now the only movie in the four-film series without a 4K version. If a 4K version of The Conjuring 2 is released, it wouldn’t be shocking to see a complete 4K collection become available.
